THE Baseball Writers’ Committee of
Cuba’s sports journalists’ organization has
announced its picks for All Stars, Golden Gloves and
most valuable players in the 51st National Series.
Twelve press media participated in the voting.
The All Stars:
Catcher: Yosvani Alarcón (LTU);
first base: José Dariel Abreu (CFG); second base:
Héctor Olivera (SCU); third base: Yulieski Gourriel
(SSP); shortstop: Yordan Manduley (HOL); left field:
Alfredo Despaigne (GRA); center field: Guillermo
Heredia (MTZ) and right field: Rusney Castillo (CAV).
Designated hitter: Serguei Pérez (IND);
utility: José M. Fernández (MTZ); right handed
pitcher: Vladimir García (CAV); left-hander: Leandro
Martínez (GRA) and relief: Pablo M. Fernández (HOL).
The Golden Gloves:
Catcher: Danger Guerrero (MAY);
first base: Yoenni Southeran (GTM); second: Andy
Ibañez (IJV); third: Raúl González (CAV); shortstop:
Yordan Manduley (HOL); left field: Yuniet Flores (VCL);
center: Guillermo Heredia (MTZ) and right field:
Rusney Castillo (CAV).
Pitcher: Alberto Soto (GRA); rookie
of the year: Carlos Juan Viera (LTU).
