Statement from the
Cuban Foreign Ministry's Director of United States
Affairs, Josefina Vidal Ferreiro
THE United States is one of the
principal destinations for the trafficking of
persons worldwide.
Cuba categorically rejects its
inclusion, once again, on the list of countries
which do not meet minimum standards directed toward
the elimination of trafficking and do not make a
significant effort toward this goal.
Cuba demands that an end be put to
the use of this issue in an attempt to discredit the
country and justify the increasingly denounced,
shameful policy of sanctions against its people.
Cuba is one of the countries around
the world which makes an exemplary effort to protect
children, youth and women.
